Cory Cottrill, Board President
My Why: Entrepreneurship has always been in my DNA. It’s most exciting when creative people can challenge norms, push the limits of innovation, and solve challenges to create value for those around them. One of the major hurdles continues to be access to the capital required to bring an entrepreneur’s vision to life. Relend helps to overcome that hurdle in a sustainable way that spreads the wealth, and opportunity, for great people seeking to create value through business.

Tom Gittinger, Founding Board Member and Board Secretary
My Why: I learned about microfinancing during my undergrad. Since then, the concept of how to partner big business and microfinancing was something that had been in the back of my mind for years. As time passed, I realized I had built experience and the network to try and take this concept to a functional non-profit organization. Relend allows me to partner my love of business and helping others in the most meaningful business endeavor of my life.

John Niemann, Founding Board Member and Treasurer
My Why: I was fortunate to access the capital that funded my education, and with it, a career in HR and technology systems that scale. That journey taught me two things: potential is everywhere, and stable steps inside larger systems dramatically improve outcomes for everyone.
Relend sits at the intersection of those beliefs. We help entrepreneurs, especially in developing communities, secure the small amounts of capital that unlock inventory, equipment, and jobs. As loans are repaid, we reinvest, turning access to capital into compounding stability: steadier income, stronger families, and more resilient neighborhoods.
I believe we all benefit when each of us can be our best self. My work, inside and outside of Relend, is about helping people and processes get there.

Trey Sinkfield, Director of Partnerships
My Why: I was in middle school the first time I discovered the entrepreneur in me. When my mom bought candy in bulk, I calculated how much each sucker cost, doubled it, and started selling them at school at that price. Even though I chose to start my career as a mechanical engineer deeply focused on fluid system design, I quickly found my way back to entrepreneurship by getting into technical sales of fluid systems. I believe a core function of an entrepreneur is to match a need with a solution. If I can help enable more entrepreneurs around the world, then we can address more needs globally.
